Stupid Church People

July 8, 2008

I work for a phone company.  I find that the rudest people you’ll have to deal with are the ones from the churches.  Why is that?  I think it’s interesting, though…

Also, I used to manage a BBQ restaurant.  I would have to work on Sundays, and those were the worst days.  Why?  Because that’s when all the church people would come in, and order food, complain, leave lousy tips, and not throw their trash away.

This was really bad for my co-workers, who already had really low opinions of people who claimed to follow Jesus.

C’mon, church people.  Get your sh*t together.  Represent.

  1. Hey, just tagsurfing and found your blog. As a restaurant guy (and a fellow ‘Christfollower’) I can’t agree more about the church crowd.

Now, what BBQ place did you work at? Joey’s? I used to be a manager at Chili’s in the town center, oh around 20 years ago. I loved Charleston.

I like your blog as well. I’ve been part of the emerging scene for a couple of years now and recently it has been leaving me so…cold? Becoming very formulaic, too hip, too with it, trying too hard to be relevant. I still like the idea but as Pogo once said; ” We have seen the enemy….” History does tend to repeat itself.

  2. That parenthesis turned into misbehaving emoticon.

  3. I worked at a BBQ joint in South Charleston. Joey’s has closed down, I believe. I like your blog. I’ll make sure and keep an eye on it. Lots of interesting content. Keep in touch.
